Completed/terminated procedure

The objective of this procedure within the European Rare Diseases Research Alliance (ERDERA) is to support activities related to international scientific and technological cooperation through the implementation of joint research projects between scientists and research teams from Bulgaria and other European countries. The joint initiative is implemented in accordance with the application conditions adopted under the program, approved by the participating funding organizations, as well as the applicable national requirements and eligibility criteria.

The funding under this procedure aims to encourage joint fundamental scientific research to support research projects focused on clinical trials for rare diseases. The call is aimed at supporting early-phase clinical trials (Phase I, II, or combined I/II), including the development of novel therapies, the application of innovative therapeutic approaches, and the repurposing of existing medicinal products for new indications. Applications are submitted by international consortia involving research organizations, universities, healthcare institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.

Eligible applicants from Bulgaria are research organizations that meet the requirements set out in the National Requirements and Eligibility Criteria, as well as the Regulations of the Bulgarian National Science Fund (BNSF). The specific conditions for participation, eligible activities, thematic areas, application deadlines, funding terms, and other specific requirements are defined in the call documents approved by the consortium.

The call is launched as part of a joint call for project proposals, in accordance with the agreements between the participating funding organizations.
