Completed/terminated procedure

The objective of this procedure is to contribute to the effective management of migration flows and to the implementation, strengthening, and development of the common asylum policy and the common migration policy, while fully respecting the relevant achievements of Union law and the international obligations of the Union and Bulgaria under the international legal instruments to which they are parties.

Within the overall objective, the implementation of the planned operations will contribute in particular to combating illegal migration by strengthening effective, safe, and dignified return for the operations under specific objective 3 "Return" of Regulation (EU) 2021/1147 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 7 July 2021 establishing the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund and in accordance with the Republic of Bulgaria's program under the Fund.

The main result of the project implementation will be to strengthen the capacity to promote voluntary return and reintegration, as well as to increase the effectiveness and sustainability of the return of third-country nationals. The use of incentives as a tool for effective management of return cases, especially to motivate third-country nationals who do not have the right to reside in the Republic of Bulgaria.
