Supplementing and upgrading the monitoring of the brown bear population on the territory of Bulgaria in accordance with the Action Plan for the conservation of the brown bear (Ursus arctos Linnaeus, 1758) in Bulgaria 2024-2033 by carrying out initial genetic monitoring of the species in the entire territory of its spread, as well as establishing the size of the population in Bulgaria.
The measure does not concern the fulfillment of Bulgaria's commitments under Art. 17 of Directive 92/43/EEC/ of May 21, 1992 for the protection of natural habitats and wild flora and fauna.
