Open calls

The National Science Fund invites participation in the second joint call under the European Partnership FutureFoodS on the topic “Accelerating Food Sustainability – through Household Dietary Shifts, Trust and Transparency, and Innovations in Circular Food Processing Systems.”

The transnational initiative brings together 36 funding organizations from 19 countries, which, with co-funding from the European Commission, will provide EUR 40 million to support research projects aimed at ensuring sustainable food systems.

Projects will be funded in the following thematic areas:

Topic 1: Domestic food practices for enhancing sustainable and healthy diets

Topic 2: Towards diverse, sustainable and circular food processing systems

Topic 3: Importance of trust and transparency

Conditions of the call:

Projects under the programme will have a duration of 3 years.

Eligible applicants under the present project selection procedure are only:

Accredited higher education institutions under Art. 85, para. 1, item 7 of the Higher Education Act, accredited by the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (NEAA) to provide education leading to the educational and scientific degree “Doctor”;

Research organizations under Art. 47, para. 1 of the Higher Education Act, accredited by the NEAA to provide education leading to the educational and scientific degree “Doctor”, as well as research organizations pursuant to §1, item 1 of the Additional Provisions of the Law on the Promotion of Research and Innovation.
