The aim of the operation is to increase the readiness to respond to natural disasters, fires and other emergencies and eliminate their consequences, by improving the capacity of the territorial units of the Directorate-General for Fire Safety and Population Protection and the voluntary formations of the municipalities.
The implementation of the operation will also contribute to increasing the capacity to help protect the population, the built infrastructure and the environment.
In order to strengthen the capacity of the teams at the regional and local level, the operation also focuses on their training, including practical training and the study and implementation of working international practices.
The operation also aims to raise awareness and promote the activities of the National Association of Volunteers in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAVB) and municipal volunteer formations and support the recruitment of volunteers to participate in emergency and rescue operations in the event of crisis situations, as well as in the elimination of their consequences.
The operation contributes to Principle 1 "Education, training and lifelong learning" and Principle 10 "Healthy, safe and well-adapted working environment and protection of personal data" of the ESDP.
