Open calls

The main objective of the procedure is to provide complementary funding to Bulgarian research organizations and higher education institutions participating in approved project proposals with concluded funding contracts within the framework of announced competitions under the DEP.

Within the framework of this procedure, it is envisaged to provide complementary funding for project proposals approved in the framework of open competitions and with concluded contracts for financing under the DEPs, the procedure being divided into components as follows:

❖ COMPONENT 1: For two project proposals of the Big Data for the Benefit of an Intelligent Society Institute as an independent legal entity within the structure of Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, with financing contracts concluded with the European Commission in the framework of specific competitions under the AEC, namely:

- Project entitled ‘European Citiverses Uniting for Inclusiveness (CU/CitiVerse ), approved under call for applications DIGITAL-2023-CLOUD-AI-04-DEVELOPCITI, which started on 1 October 2024;

- A project entitled ‘Data space for mobility (deployment)’ (DeployEMDS), approved under call for applications DIGITAL-2022-CLOUD-AI-03-DS-MOBILITY, which started on 1 November 2023, and

❖ COMPONENT 2: For project proposals, with the participation of Bulgarian research organizations and higher education institutions, received a letter of support from the Ministry of Innovation and Growth, approved in the framework of announced competitions and with contracts for funding under the Digital Europe Programme.
