Through procedure No. BG14MFOP001-5.022 "Measures for marketing - sector "Processing of fishery and aquaculture products" under measure 5.3 "Measures for marketing" the aim is to provide compensation to operators involved in the processing of fishery and aquaculture products for the additional costs they incurred due to the turmoil in the market, as a result of Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine.

The grant of the grant is provided in connection with the provisions of Art. 68, paragraph 3 of Regulation (EU) No. 508/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 May 2014, based on Regulation (EU) 2022/1278 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 July 2022 amending Regulation (EU) No 508/2014 concerning special measures to mitigate the effects of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine on fisheries and to limit the impact of the market disruption caused by that war of aggression on the supply chain of fishery products and aquaculture.

Compensation to owners of fishery and aquaculture product processing enterprises may be granted for temporary suspension or reduction of fishery and aquaculture product processing and sales or additional storage costs incurred between 24 February 2022 and 31 December 2022 as a result of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.
