BG14MFPR001-1.006 - Support to improve the economic and social status of fishing operators

The implementation of type of activity 1.1.2. "Support for improving the economic and social status of operators in fishing" aims to support activities that do not lead to an increase in the gross tonnage of fishing vessels and do not depend on the balance of the fishing fleet. The activities included in the procedure, such as investments on board fishing vessels, investments in improving working conditions and promoting human capital, ship repair, adding value and quality to catches, diversification of activities, etc., enable operators to receive support under several different components through which they can increase their competitiveness, including achieving the objectives of the European Green Deal, the Biodiversity Strategy and the Circular Economy. Under the procedure, priority for support will be projects implemented by operators representing small-scale coastal fishing, given its specific needs.

Expected results: By supporting operators under the procedure, prerequisites will be created for the development of a modern and competitive fishing fleet, an opportunity to increase the income of those employed in fishing, and especially those from the small-scale fishing fleet, which are the most vulnerable group within it. By financing projects under the procedure, the decarbonization process and increasing the sustainability of the country's fishing fleet will be supported.
