The aim of the procedure is to contribute for the improvment of the conditions for the conservation of endangered species ex situ, by cultivating specimens in the relevant sites in compliance with the requirements of the Convention on Biological Diversity (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), EU legislation in the field, established international practices for cultivation, as well as the storage of genetic material in human-controlled conditions.
