Completed/terminated procedure

The purpose of this operation is in the context of ensuing ratification of the Convention of the Council of Europe on preventing and fighting violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention) commitments, namely to plan and provide the necessary general and special measures by the state to victims of violence throughout the country.

This will provide the necessary preventive and follow-up measures to protect this vulnerable group.

The purpose is based on the analyzes and research to provide concrete proposals for policy changes in the field of social services for victims of violence and especially access to them.

The operation will place special emphasis on the negative traditional practices such as early marriage, etc., which constitute an important segment of violence against women, domestic violence, etc. while often remain hidden.

To overcome the identified disadvantaged plans to build a system for monitoring and surveillance of equality between men and women that will oblige public authorities to collect, record and process data by gender in the implementation of policy equality between men and women.

The operation also aims to define and meet the needs of social employes from the Directorates "Social Assistance" and enhance their professional capacity in their work on domestic violence cases.

Whithin the operation there are activities to rise awareness of experts working on cases of violence and especially violence based on gender, as well as raising awareness of civil society.
