Completed/terminated procedure

The procedure is aimed at improving and modernizing the working conditions in research units of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), which have the potential to perform innovative activities in the field of green and digital technologies. It is planned to finance project proposals of 14 research units: Institute of Electronics, Institute of Catalysis, Institute of Organic Chemistry with Center of Phytochemistry , Institute of Polymers, Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry, Central Laboratory of Applied Physics - Plovdiv, Institute of Physical Chemistry, Institute of Optical Materials and Technologies, Institute of Metal Science, equipment, and technologies with Center for Hydro- and Aerodynamics, Institute of Mineralogy and Crystallography, Institute of Mechanics, Institute of Electrochemistry and Energy Systems, Institute of

Chemical Engineering, and Institute of Solid State Physics.

The modernization of the infrastructure will be carried out primarily in the direction of improving working conditions. The activity includes a partial rehabilitation of the infrastructure, by carrying out construction and installation works for the internal renovation of laboratory, cabinet, office, corridor, sanitary and storage rooms. The measure is also aimed at improving the internal climate and environment of the premises for carrying out research and innovation activities (laboratories and offices) through the supply and installation of appropriate equipment and/or furniture, as well as the supply/construction of facilities to increase safety of labor.

The activities to improve working conditions must be carried out by all applicants in premises with a total area of 4,145 m2.

Improving the infrastructure of the research units of the BAS, which carry out research and innovation activities in the field of green and digital technologies, will increase their potential for development and for cooperation between the academic and economic sectors and will lead to the acceleration of the process of turning scientific developments and knowledge in innovation. This is expected to have a positive impact on the innovativeness of Bulgarian enterprises and a contribution to the implementation of the economic transition.
